Michael grew up on family farms in Marrar and Brucedale and attended school in Wagga Wagga. Elected as The Nationals’ Member for Riverina in 2010, he has fought for regional issues, including agriculture and small business.
He has held key roles such as Assistant Minister for Defence, Small Business Minister, and Minister for Veterans’ Affairs. In 2018, he became Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure.
A former journalist and newspaper editor, Michael also co-founded a media business. Passionate about community, military history, and sport, he remains dedicated to representing the Riverina in Federal Parliament.
