I want to move a file on a mac without dragging it with the trackpad / mouse.
Follow the steps below:
Right click on the file in Finder and you will see no “CUT” option. There is only “COPY”.
That’s OK, go ahead and COPY the File.
Now go to your new location, right click and then press the ALT (option) button. (Alternatively click Edit on the top of the screen then press ALT).
The PASTE option will become MOVE ITEM HERE.
Select MOVE ITEM HERE and you have achieved the same result as CUT and PASTE in Windows.
